Judd Apatow, Owen Wilson And Harold Ramis Team Up For Year One

Coming off the hugely successful opening weekend for Knocked Up, Judd Apatow (the new Hollywood comedy golden boy) has announced that he will produce a Harold Ramis (yes, Egon from Transformers) comedy. Year One will star Jack Black and Michael Cera (Superbad). Owen Wilson is attached as executive producer (what that means exactly, we don't know). But Owen has some experience in this area, having been involved with You Me and Dupree, The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore and As Good as it Gets.

Ramis co-wrote the script with The Office scribes Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg. So what is the new movie about? Well... ummm its about the first year of... okay, we don't have a clue. As it turns out, the studio wants the plot details to be kept under wraps (for now). But our spys will be on the lookout.

Ramis has written (and or directed) a lot of classic comedies including: National Lampoon's Animal House, Meatballs, Stripes, Ghostbusters, Back to School, Caddyshack, National Lampoon's Vacation, Groundhog Day, and Analyze This. He's obviously not good with the art of the sequel (Analyze That and Ghostbusters II being textbook examples of how not to make one). But as of recent years, he's produced a bunch of lackluster efforts including The Ice Harvest, BeDazzled, Multiplicity, and Stuart Saves His Family.
