'24 Exposures' Trailer: 'You're Next' Creators Star In Story Of Sex And Murder

The actors in Joe Swanberg's movies have, at times, been friends of his in filmmaking, just as he has acted in other directors' films. For 24 Exposures, Swanberg has Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett in front of the lens — they're the director/writer pair who are responsible for films such as You're Next and A Horrible Way To Die, and parts of  V/H/S and V/H/S/2. (Swanberg has acted for Wingard before, in You're Next, and they've acted for him in his segment for V/H/S.)

The plot is right out of a Euro-sleaze as "A fetish photographer and a homicide detective are brought together when a young model turns up dead." Check out a trailer below.

24 Exposures opens in theaters on January 24.

24 Exposures connects the European art films of the 60's with the late night Cinemax thrillers of the 90s as it investigates ideas of reality and fiction, art and pornography, life and death. A fetish photographer and a homicide detective are brought together when a young model turns up dead. They develop an unlikely friendship, as both are interested in what the other does for a living. Inspired by Nicolas Roeg and Zalman King, Jean Luc Godard and Roger Corman, Michaelangelo Antonioni and Russ Meyers, the film mixes high art and exploitation and asks you to question if there's any difference between the two when it comes to the artistic impulse.
