Last month I had the opportunity to visit Pixar Animation Studios and preview the company’s next film The Good Dinosaur. You can read what I learned about the making of The Good Dinosaur here and read my interview with director Peter Sohn. While at Pixar, I had that opportunity to sit down with some of the other creatives behind the film, here is my interview with Denise Ream, who has an interesting story as she started out as a Visual Effects Producer at ILM working on films like Star Wars, Men In Black, Harry Potter and Mission Impossible movies before jumping across the bay to Pixar where she worked on Up, Cars 2, Brave, The Good Dinosaur and the upcoming sequel Cars 3.
Hit the jump to learn about how she went from Star Wars to Pixar, what its like to be on a project that loses a director and gets completely reworked, the choice of making the characters cartoony against a almost photo real backdrop, the daunting quest to find voice actors for this film, and how do you hide a Pizza Planet truck in a Dinosaur movie? All this and more in our Denise Ream interview, which you can read now after the jump.

Next week brings the perfect movie for the whole family to see after a tasty Thanksgiving feast, Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur. The film hits theaters everywhere on November 25th, bringing us the story of a lost dinosaur named Arlo who befriends a wild little boy who he names Spot and tries to survive in the wild on his own.
We’ve already got a good idea of just how much we’re going to cry at this movie thanks to the most recent trailer, so why not take a look at the hustle and bustle behind the scenes of making a feature length animated movie. Below we have a few videos looking at the making of The Good Dinosaur, from recording sessions with the actors to a scoring session for the soundtrack and even director Peter Sohn brainstorming and storyboarding with the crew. With Thanksgiving just a couple weeks away, we don’t have much time before we get our second Pixar Animation film of the year, The Good Dinosaur. Everything we’ve seen from the prehistoric adventure looks like it packs another fantastic adventure with an unlikely friendship that will make tears come out of our faces.
Now we have a new The Good Dinosaur clip that doesn’t get the waterworks flowing, but does show off what an asset Sam Elliott‘s voice can be. The Big Lebowski and Prancer star plays the tyrannosaurus rex Butch, the patriarch of a family who has seem some scary things in his time, and he tells Arlo (Raymond Ochoa) around a campfire of just how he got that big scar on his face. Last month I had the opportunity to visit Pixar Animation Studios and preview the company’s next film The Good Dinosaur. You can read what I learned about the making of The Good Dinosaur here. While at Pixar, I had that opportunity to sit down with a bunch of the creatives behind the film.
After the jump you will find my interview with director Peter Sohn, who I’ve talked to a few times over the years and seems like a great and talented guy. In the interview, Pete talks about some of his favorite movies he recommends to friends, the evolution of the project over the years, how he got involved as a director, his vision behind the stark contrast between the beautiful, almost photo realistic backgrounds and the cartoony characters, a scene from the film that I felt was a homage to Jaws, the 1400 kid search for the main star of this film, how directing the voice actors for the English version of Miyazaki’s Ponyo helped him in making this film, and find out who directs Peter Sohn when he performs in his own film. All this and more in our Peter Sohn Good Dinosaur interview, after the jump.

So far we’ve seen two different trailers for Pixar Animation’s second film of 2015, The Good Dinosaur. And while we’ve seen some stunning animation and have a basic idea of the story about a young apatosaurus named Arlo befriending a feral young boy in the wild, we’ve only heard one word of dialogue from the movie.
But that changes today in a quick new The Good Dinosaur trailer from overseas. This one has Spanish voiceover and bumpers, but it doesn’t make the trailer harder to follow because all the dialogue is in English, and it includes more lines from Raymond Ochoa as Arlo, as well as the first dialogue from Sam Elliott as the gruff, intimidating tyrannosaurus rex named Butch and more.
