Michael Bay, the director of honest-to-God action classics like The Rock and, uh, anti-classics like Transformers: Age of Extinction, is currently hard at work making a new thriller called Ambulance, which is filming in Los Angeles. Bay is a natural born showman, and he’s shared a new behind-the-scenes video of an explosive stunt on the set of his new movie which looks insanely dangerous, but which Bay promises was “controlled.” Check it out below.

The actor, who recently appeared in The Trial of the Chicago 7 and will next be seen in Candyman, is joining Jake Gyllenhaal in the action-thriller about thieves who steal an ambulance as their getaway vehicle, only to then realize there’s a sick patient still in the back.

Jake Gyllenhaal wants in on some Bayhem so he’s in talks to star in Ambulance, the latest from Michael Bay. The script for the film, penned by Chris Fedak, has actually been kicking around for a while. At one point, Big Bad Wolves directors Navot Papushado & Aharon Keshales were attached to helm. But now, Bay has ahold of it. While the latest news about Gyllenhaal possibly joining the cast says that the plot is under wraps, previous reports reveal that Fedak’s script is a remake of the 2005 Danish film Ambulancen, which followed two brothers who use an ambulance as their getaway vehicle following a robbery.
