Rumor: Katie Jarvis Up For 'Star Wars Episode VII'

By now you probably know J.J. Abrams' Star Wars Episode VII has begun filming. You probably also know the cast photo we saw two weeks ago isn't the full cast. Besides dozens of small supporting roles, there are still some leads yet to be cast and a new report might have named two of them. The first one we knew. Maisie Richardson-Sellers, the U.K. based actress and Oxford student rumored a few weeks back, is reportedly in the film. Then there's Katie Jarvis, another U.K. actress best known for the twisted Fish Tank starring Michael Fassbender.

Latino Review dropped this news in a new column, along with a few other super major spoilers/rumors.

There's no word, however, whom each of these actresses could be playing (if they're in the film at all). That's something we'll likely have to wait a while to find out as the revelation of character names will start to reveal the story. And that's not something J.J. Abrams is interested in.

While Richardson-Sellers is someone we've been hearing about for a long time, Jarvis is a new name in the mix and a super curious one. After 2009's Fish Tank, she was probably at the top of many casting lists. Since then though, she hasn't acted in a film. I'm not sure why but to go from near total obscurity to the biggest film in the world is quite a leap. It's either the perfect return to the big screen or the worst idea ever for someone trying to remain anonymous. Of course, we don't know if Jarvis falls into either category but it's curious.

Also curious is the potential addition of these young roles after most of the others have been cast. It suggests many of the actors already cast are not who we think they are. I'm starting to get the feeling maybe Daisy Ridley and John Boyega have major roles and a few other actors will be softly introduced in this film, only to have bigger roles moving ahead once Abrams and crew has phased out the original cast. Do you think that's the way it's going to go?

Also, it's important to reiterate everything Star Wars is a rumor until it's officially announced. Still, what do you think of Katie Jarvis potentially joining the cast? Do you have an idea of who she could be playing?

Star Wars Episode VII is now filming. It'll be released December 18, 2015.
