We know that Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany is one of several actresses reading for a leading role in Gareth Edwards' Star Wars Standalone movie. Now, a rumor has popped up via Total Geeks that she has landed the role. The Mary Sue agrees. Nothing is officially until StarWars.com says so but, this would be awesome.

Latino Review's latest Star Wars column has a pretty big potential revelation about Star Wars: The Force Awakens. A very popular alien race, one not yet discussed in most talk around the film, will reportedly appear in the film. Don't want to spoil it here, so head to that link to find out more.

Star Wars tipping point

Star Wars 7 News points out a fun fact about the original Star Wars. This page from J.W. Rinzler's Making of Book reveals that J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan may have taken the title for "The Force Awakens" from an early script Lucas wrote -or just borrowed the concept. Either way, pretty cool.

Here's the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer, in neon, by Neonardo. Thanks to TheForce.net.

Star Wars 7 News saw an actor's Facebook post who revealed that he'll be shooting for Star Wars: The Force Awakens in Los Angeles on February 15-17. What, where and who will be shooting? We don't know, but it's good that they're continuing to add to the film and make it better.

Earlier this week, a site called iKwiz reported Michael Fassbender would play Boba Fett in Gareth Edwards' Star Wars standalone. Fassbender has about four films scheduled to come out in the next year and a half so I sincerely doubt the rumor is true. But, it's kind of fun to think about.

Star Wars 7 News has a fun article about the name "Poe Dameron" and how it may have been created. Long story short, it may be derived by a few of J.J. Abrams' employees, but read the whole story at that link.

IGN posted this cool video describing how to make your own BB-8 at home.

Star Wars Battlefront is one of the most anticipated games of 2015 and there are some cool updates about it. First up, it will definitely tie in with The Force Awakens, as revealed by videogamer.com. That's part of the reason they haven't released a lot of information about it.

Finally, IGN debuted this insane piece of Star Wars Battlefront concept art, as well as new information:
