LOL: 'Transformers: Age Of Extinction' Honest Trailer
The Screen Junkies team isn't always mean. When they're genuinely impressed by a movie, they're honest enough to say so. But if I'm being honest, it's more fun to watch them rip a deserving target to shreds. And the Transformers: Age of Extinction Honest Trailer is truly a delight to behold.
The video tears into all the obnoxious, nonsensical, and downright stupid aspects of the Michael Bay-directed extravaganza, and even delves into some eye-rolling errors you might have missed. Hit the jump to watch the Transformers Age of Extinction Honest Trailer.
Like all Honest Trailers, this one is better if you've seen the actual film already. So if you're regretting the 165 minutes(!) you spent on the film this summer, this hilarious video might help make up for it. On the flip side, if you haven't seen it yet, this highlights all the most WTF moments in under 6 minutes — saving you the other 159.
It's not that Transformers: Age of Extinction is completely joyless. Stanley Tucci makes the most of his weaselly character, Mark Wahlberg embraces the silliness of it all, and Bay does not skimp on the robot-on-robot battles. Which is really what everyone's here to see, anyway.
But Screen Junkies takes Bay and his team to task for all the really awful things about Transformers: Age of Extinction, from the bizarre (if not inaccurate) explanation of statutory rape laws in Texas, to the endless product placement, to the shameless pandering to Chinese audiences. No wonder Pete put unnecessary diversions to China as #5 on his list of current trends he hates.
Of course, as much as we're enjoying mocking the latest Transformers, it's really Bay and Paramount that have the last laugh. Transformers: Age of Extinction grossed over $1 billion worldwide, making a fifth Transformers a sure bet. But hey, if Hollywood stopped making nonsense, what would the Screen Junkies have to make fun of?
