Robert Downey Jr. Open To 'Iron Man 4'

Here are the facts when it comes to Robert Downey Jr. and Iron Man. The trilogy of films concluded with Iron Man 3, and he began renegotiating his contract with Marvel. That contract was then revealed to be only for Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers 3, but not Iron Man 4. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige long discussed the potential of recasting the role too. But, over the past two years, Downey has been the highest paid actor in Hollywood, earning $75 million per year. That's a tough number to ignore and now, a new quote leaves the door open for Downey to return for Iron Man 4.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly on the set of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Downey said the following:

It's down to Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios president] and Ike [Perlmutter, CEO of Marvel Entertainment] and Disney to come to us with what the proposal is, and that's on us to agree or disagree. When things are going great, there's a lot of agreement.

Right now, [filming Avengers 2] has just been swell, hasn't it? This has been a really good one and it feels good and we're having a good time.

It's that thing of: Why give up the belt when it feels like you can barely get jabbed? Most people are saying that right when they get knocked out. The future is, as usual, uncertain.

Lots of vagueness there but it seems pretty obvious Downey is interested in playing Tony Stark long into the future. The question becomes "When?" He's said in the past age would be a factor and with Marvel dating films into 2019 now, it seems like a fourth Iron Man movie could almost be into his 60s.

What do you think about Robert Downey Jr Iron Man 4? Should he return? Will he die? When could it happen?
