'Mudbloods' Trailer: For Players, Real-Life Quidditch Is No Joke
People play Quidditch in real life. Seems weird, but who am I to tell people how to spend their time? The game is a bit different without magic, of course. OK, it's a lot different. No flying brooms, no buzzing snitch. But a dedicated group of people have figured out a way to translate the game into our muggle world in a way that works for them. The documentary Mudbloods follows some of these players as they work their way towards the recently-founded Quidditch World Cup. Watch the Mudbloods trailer after the jump.

Given that the sport is played on college campuses, there's no real surprise that Quidditch players have to fight through disinterest and even derision. What's the line between cosplay, and actually playing a game invented for a fantasy world? In the end it doesn't matter — the sweat and effort is real, and the blood is real. That makes it real for the players. Everyone else can stick to football.
