See A Red-Band Blooper Reel / Trailer For 'The Watch'

With just two days til its July 27 premiere, The Watch director Akiva Schaffer has pushed out one last red-band trailer. Or maybe it's a blooper reel. However you want to categorize it, it may actually be one of the funnier bits of marketing that have come out for the movie.

Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill, Vince Vaughn, and Richard Ayoade star as a quartet of suburban guys whose neighborhood watch group is mostly just an excuse for them to get out of the house and engage in some quality male bonding. (That's the case for three of the guys, at least.)

When they discover that aliens are secretly taking over their town, however, it falls upon this bumbling group to save the day. Watch the (NSFW for language) video after the jump.

Though the nature of the reel seems to suggest that much of this stuff has been excised from the movie completely, I'm told that these are mostly just alternate or flubbed takes of jokes that are actually in the movie. So if you laughed watching it, the good news is that this isn't one of those irritating cases where all the highlights from the marketing campaign aren't actually in the movie itself.

Despite the presence of three A-list American comedy stars and one fantastic foreign transplant, I can't say The Watch is all that high on my summer to-do list. There just isn't much about it that seems fresh or exciting. But there are worse ways to take advantage of movie theater air conditioning, especially if you were a fan of Schaffer's Hot Rod.

Synopsis:

Four everyday suburban guys come together as an excuse to escape their humdrum lives one night a week. But when they accidentally discover that their town has become overrun with aliens posing as ordinary suburbanites, they have no choice but to save their neighborhood — and the world — from total extermination.
