'Hellraiser: Revelations' Trailer – Is The Ninth Time The Charm?
Hellraiser: Revelations is the ninth film in the Clive Barker franchise. Yes, you read that right. Ninth. Since the 1987 original, which Barker directed, films with subtitles like Inferno, Hellseeker, Deader and Hellworld have all followed leading up to Revelations. This latest installment takes the story of an ancient box that unlocks the sadistic, other-worldly Cenobites and gives it a reality TV twist as a group of friends film what happens when they open the Lament Configuration, only to later have their parents discover the tape. Revelations is also the first Hellraiser to not feature Doug Bradley as Pinhead and that gives a great idea about what to expect when you watch this trailer below.
Thanks to Shock Till You Drop for this trailer. It's pretty insane, but not in the good way.
In Shock's review of the film, a 3 out of 10, it says that the film "offers more suffering than any others that have come before it." Ouch. There's also a rumor that Dimension made this film because they didn't want the rights to revert before they have a chance to make a big budget remake of the original. We haven't heard much about the remake in a few months so who knows what the status is. This film does exist though. And it looks really bad.
Hellraiser: Revelations hits on demand on September 1 and Blu-ray on October 18. Here's the plot description:
Two friends in Mexico discover the Lament Configuration and unleash Pinhead, but one decides to try to survive by swapping himself with someone else. Once they go missing, family members go in search of them, but find Pinhead instead.
Have you kept up with this series? Do you think it has legs?
