Project Updates: Sam Worthington On Clash Of The Titans 2; Kevin Smith On Red State And Hit Somebody; Angelina Jolie Explains Why She Left Wanted 2

Small updates on a few films have hit the 'net over the past couple days, in part due to junket appearances by various actors. Sam Worthington, while promoting his new comics and film endeavor, talked about Clash of the Titans 2. Kevin Smith addressed Red State and the possible rating for Hit Somebody, and Angelina Jolie explained her disinterest in Wanted 2.

With respect to the latter, Jolie's comments are spoilerish for the first film. I assume anyone reading about Wanted 2 has either seen the first or doesn't care about knowing what happens, but now you've been warned.

Clash of the Titans 2

Interviews with Sam Worthington tend to reveal an outspoken, opinionated guy. Take his comments about Clash of the Titans 2, which were caught by ComingSoon.

[It] will be 3D this time...Shot in 3D. Do put that in and make them f***ing aware... When I read Clash 2, they came to me the other day. I said, 'I kinda dig where it's going, but can we make the character more of this? Can we make it more of that? Can I get to play a lot more and get involved and have a lot more f***ing fun than just being a young man who has to stand there and look pretty?' I'm sick of doing that, so it's kind of a case of, 'How do we make Perseus a lot more fun?' So we're sort of shaping it down that track.

No awful post-converted 3D? A more entertaining main character? Check and check. Let's hope Legendary and WB decide what film they want to make before they hit the editing room this time, and it might actually work out.

Red State and Hit Somebody

As he frequently does, Kevin Smith has recently answered a lot of fan questions via Twitter.

He says, for instance, that based on the current (unfinished) draft of Hit Somebody, the film would likely be PG-13. That seems like a surprise, if only for the fact that Kevin Smith + hockey seems like a way to generate far more 'f***s' than the PG-13 rating allows. And he says that he'll likely announce all the casting for Red State during his Hall H panel on Saturday at Comic Con.

Wanted 2

At the junket for Salt, Angelina Jolie told ComingSoon that she didn't ultimately see the point in coming back for Wanted 2 for two reasons. One, she's dead. Two is that it would feel to much like a rehash of the first film. Lesson learned with Tomb Raider 2, I guess.

Being dead makes it difficult...They were (trying to bring me back) but I kind of feel like if I die in a movie, I should die actually. I'm that way, and that character is not as complex as Salt. It would just be doing the exact same thing in another movie, so it's not that interesting to me.

Jolie also says that playing Cleopatra (not in the mooted Steven Soderbergh musical Cleo, as ComingSoon erroneously notes) and Malificent are possibilities, but too far off to really say at this point. There are no scripts, so it's too early.
