LOL: Who Needs A Remake When You've Got 'Conan The Barbarian: The Musical'?
The big studio moviemaking cliche is that for any fairly obvious idea there's always some serious competition. So there are multiple versions of The Three Musketeers in development, a bunch of Wizard of Oz-related projects jockeying for position, and plenty more.
And I bet you didn't know that the remake / new version of Conan had competition from an unlikely source. I hate to say this right to director Marcus Nispel (because I'm scared of his beard) but Jon and Al Kaplan just beat his remake to a bloody pulp with Conan the Barbarian: The Musical.
As good as hearing mentions of Crom and the Riddle of Steel may be, and while hearing the things that are best in life set to music is undeniably wonderful, the real glory hits at 2:11.
