Movie Teaser: Will Smith Talks About Men In Black 3D
Yeah, that's right: Men in Black 3D. No, the film hasn't started shooting yet, but Sony has already shot a teaser (of sorts) for the movie that will reunite director Barry Sonnenfeld and stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, with newcomers like Josh Brolin and Jemaine Clement.
The 'teaser' — which is really just Will Smith talking to the camera while standing either on the Sony lot or in a similar location — was presented at the Sony 3D TV launch event which took place this week at Sony Pictures Studios. It's hard to tell exactly where Smith is, because the footage is being presented in 3D, and the background is consequently fuzzy. Someone who either (a) knows LA a lot better than I do or (b) wants to take the trouble to do a little Photoshop work could probably clear up the actual location. Please share with the class in the comments, if possible.
What I really want to know is: how much does it cost to get Will Smith to show up for ten minutes to do this? And does it cost extra to make him act like he's not embarrassed to say that line? Because if it does, I'm not sure Sony paid that extra fee.
This is an audience-shot video, which we don't usually post, but in this case, because it isn't really commercial footage, I'll make an exception. In case you're behind on the story elements of the film, I'm re-posting them after the clip — beware spoilers in the story recap.

So: the spoilerish stuff:
As you may have read, Josh Brolin plays the younger version of the Tommy Lee Jones character. Reportedly, most of the action takes place in 1969, with sequences featuring Tommy Lee Jones bookending the movie. So does Will Smith travel back in time to find the younger K? You'd think so, as Sony isn't going to put Smith into the film and then have him appear only in bookending modern sequences.
