The Sorcerer's Apprentice Tries To Get A Lead On Inception
The worst thing about Disney's The Sorcerer's Apprentice is the release date. No one in Hollywood wants to go up against Christopher Nolan's Inception, even a film which is aiming at a clearly younger demographic. I've heard from a number of sources that Sorcerer's is actually pretty good and will surprise people who see it.
But will anyone see it if they have the choice to see the next film from that guy who did The Dark Knight and Memento?
Even director Jon Turteltaub cracked some nervous jokes about the release date while speaking at WonderCon. I fully expected Disney to move the film to another release date.
It seems like it might be too late in the game to make such a big change, so Disney is instead making a small one. Disney has announced they will be moving The Sorcerer's Apprentice up to Wednesday, July 14th, giving it a couple days before the Chris Nolan mindfuck hits multiplexes.
