Human Giant Want You To Join Them To Live Twitter Crank 2

When Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, one critic live blogged his review from his cell phone in an attempt to be first. Thankfully this form of reviewing hasn't really caught on (although, I do recall that one of the video blogs live blogging the new Street Fighter movie). The guys from Human Giant are now trying to take this idea to the next possible level... make it interactive.

Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel and Scott Aukerman (who, yes, technically isn't in Human Giant, we know) will be live twittering the midnight screening of Crank 2: High Voltage, and they want you to join them. They will be screening the film at the AMC 16 in Burbank at the 12:01 screening, but you don't need to be there with them to join in. The idea, which they call TwitFlix, is to have an interactive commentary/conversation while the movie is playing.

They suggest that anyone who wants to join in, must sit in the furthest back row possible, so that participants don't disturb others with their phone lights. Tweets need to be hash tagged with #CRANK so that everyone can find them. And they also suggest that if anyone complains, that they be courteous and comply or switch seats. To be completely honest, I don't think I would ever want to participate is watching a film, especially for the first time, in this manner. That said, I find the idea to be fascinating. It almost makes me want to head to a midnight screening of Crank 2 to see what the running commentary might be like.
