Mickey Rourke Updates On Iron Man 2 Involvement

As of yesterday, Mickey Rourke is officially participating in Sly Stallone's The Expendables, but the forecast for his involvement in Iron Man 2 is cloudy with a chance of nada. Speaking with Vulture at Fashion Week, Rourke had this to say...

"Right now, we're not doing Iron Man 2," Rourke told us grimly.

Rourke is said to be up for a variation of the villain Whiplash, though early trade reports had him pegged for another baddie, Crimson Dynamo. The comeback kid remains a favorite to take Best Actor at this year's Academy Awards; you may have come across a totally unvetted list of the winners today that goes one step further. Perhaps he's waiting it out.
