Eli Roth Guest Directs Inglourious Basterds

A couple weeks ago we published some photos from the set of Inglourious Basterds. Some people noticed that director Quentin Tarantino was mysteriously absent from the Goerlitz set. I just wrote it off as second unit photography, but the fact of the matter is that Tarantino wasn't on set — because Eli Roth was the director of that sequence. According to Tatantino Archives, Roth is directing the "film within the film", which stars Daniel Bruhl as a Nazi sniper and a group of GIs on a suicide mission. So there you have it – not only does Eli Roth co-star in the film, but he also guest directs. Thanks to /Film reader Christopher M for the tip.
