Cool Stuff: Alamo's 2001: A Space Odyssey And King Kong Movie Posters
In past editions of Cool Stuff, I've talked at length about why The Alamo Drafthouse is the best movie theater in the world, and raved at the poster art that Tyler Stout has created for past Alamo events. The Alamo Ritz is in the middle on their Spring Big Screen Sci-Fi Classics series, and have commissioned a set of posters for the screenings. This art-deco King Kong poster was created by Burlesque Studios' Wes Winship, best known as the poster artist for The Arcade Fire! This hand-pulled silkscreened print uses a beautiful split-fountain color fade.
This 2001: A Space Odyssey poster was designed by Jay Ryan, who has designed a lot of cool posters for a lot of cool bands over the last 13 years.
Both 26x40 poster prints are available for a limited time only on Mondotees.com for $30 each. King Kong is limited to only 50 and 2001 is limited to 90. I already bought mine, so you better act fast.
