Emma Watson Quits Harry Potter?

While she's not avoiding stalker fans at her British school, Harry Potter star Emma Watson is considering leaving the Harry Potter series. Please Emma, say it isn't so.

The News of the World newspaper is claiming that the actress who played Hermione Granger in the series has supposedly turned down a new £2 million-per-movie offer for the final two films.

"Emma doesn't want to do it any more," co-star Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) explains. "She's tired of being known as 'that girl from Harry Potter'. Daniel and I are distant from her now. We don't text or talk to her when we are not filming."

But Warner Bros isn't giving up hope yet:

"We're extremely confident that Emma will be back for films six and seven."

If she doesn't want to be referred to as "that kid from Harry Potter," it's probably too late for that. I believe she'll eventually sign on, after Warner ups her offer. I think of it like the Sopronos. They knew this season would be the last, so all the big names held out for bigger money (and rightfully so). I'm betting this is just a smart business move from Watson.
