WTF: Kanye West Could (Maybe) Be Creative Director On The 'Jetsons' Movie?

Kanye West says a lot of stuff on Twitter — so much so, sometimes, that his account should be labeled with that old tag that adorned cheap novelties and pinball machines, "for amusement only." Last night he went on a long tweet-spree, the contents of which are mostly out of our editorial jurisdiction.

There was one thing, however, that caught our eye: Kanye says he just had a conference call about becoming the creative director for "the Jetson movie." Huh?

Here's the relevant tweet set:

I was just discussing becoming the creative director for the Jetson movie and someone on the call yelled out.. you should do a Jetsons tour! [1] ... This just happened a few hours ago. I was very insulted of course becuase for anyone that's seen the Watch the Throne Tour [2] ...Or Coachella or Glow in the Dark or Runaway.. you know I have real ideas...[3]

Presumably this is the live-action Jetsons movie that was written by Adam Goldberg and which Robert Rodriguez was once attached to direct. We haven't heard much at all about the movie in a while (which was just fine, I think) but this implies that it isn't dead yet. Of course it isn't dead — the Jetsons is a known, exploitable property.

So what can we expect from Kanye, should he end up working on the film? (Which seems unlikely.) Another recent tweet points to something:

I don't want to see any movie that doesn't have mind blowing special effects... #EVERAGAIN

Oh, boy. Maybe Kanye can get his creative pal Spike Jonze involved — or, better yet, let's hope not. Jonze has many better things to do.
