Warner Bros. Developing Musical Comedy For Robert Downey, Jr.

Briefly: This one's going to be short because we don't have a lot of info, but Warner Bros. has picked up a pitch for an as-yet untitled musical comedy that the studio will develop as a film for Robert Downey, Jr. Brian Yorkey is writing the script and lyrics, with Tom Kitt doing the music — that's the team behind the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning rock opera Next to Normal. (So this probably won't a The Singing Detective sequel.)

All the plot we have is that RDJ would play half of a Broadway songwriting pair whose latest musical flops, leading the two to take jobs as coundelors at the theater camp from their childhood. Robert Downey, Jr. and his wife Susan Downey are producing as well. [Deadline]
