Mark your calendars: John Boyega will be re-cancelling the apocalypse in 2018. Universal Pictures and Legendary have just officially set a release date for Pacific Rim 2, which seemed like a pipe dream three years ago when the original Pacific Rim failed to make much of an impression at the box office. Fortunately, our fellow sci-fi fans across the Atlantic were more than happy to add to the worldwide gross, and now here we are. Read More »

The past couple of years have been a real roller coaster ride for Pacific Rim fans. The film’s limp U.S. box office dimmed hopes of a sequel, before a strong overseas performance got Universal interested again. A release date was set and everything seemed on track for more jaeger vs. kaiju fights… and then Universal got cold feet and put the whole thing on hold. Through it all, Guillermo del Toro insisted Pacific Rim 2 was not dead, and now it looks like his optimism is finally panning out.
Legendary Pictures has hired Spartacus creator and Daredevil season 1 Steven S. DeKnight to helm the sci-fi action sequel, while del Toro will remain on board as a producer. Universal Pictures is still set to distribute.

In official images from two upcoming Marvel properties, we’re not seeing things that we’re used to seeing with the characters. There’s Netflix’s Daredevil, where we’ve see Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) in a simple, black costume. Then there’s Fox’s Fantastic Four, where the characters have so far been seen in functional, flexible suits. The link between the two is that neither project features the primary costumes we know from the comic books: the red Daredevil suit and the brighter blue Fantastic Four outfits with a big “4” on the chest.
Well, according to people involved with both projects, all those costumes will be in their respective projects. And while the Daredevil suit isn’t that surprising, the Fantastic Four one is. Read more about the Daredevil and Fantastic Four movie costumes below, plus see a new motion video from Daredevil. Read More »

Not only is 2015 going to bring us two new Marvel Studios movies, we get at least two (and maybe more) brand new Marvel TV shows. The first comes upon us pretty quickly, Agent Carter. A few months later, a full season of Daredevil will be available on Netflix. Daredevil, which stars Charlie Cox, Rosario Dawson, Vincent D’Onofrio and others, is the first of four Netflix Marvel shows that will eventually lead to The Defenders.
Outside of that, we don’t know a ton about the show. That’s starting to change, however. In a new piece by Entertainment Weekly, head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb, showrunner Steven S. DeKnight and Cox offer up some new info on the show. We find out a bit about its tone, its Marvel Cinematic Universe connections, important of the evil Kingpin and the likelihood we’ll see another villain, Bullseye, at some point. Read the Daredevil Netflix update below. Read More »

While we can’t show you any footage just yet, there’s a lot of other info from the panel to pass along. One tidbit is the identity of the character played by Rosario Dawon, as well as the casting choices for a whole host of additional Daredevil players. UPDATE: This story has now been confirmed by Variety. Minor changes have been made to reflect that fact.
The man without fear has a new persona. Marvel’s Daredevil, coming to Netflix in 2015, recently switched showrunners from Drew Goddard to Steven S. DeKnight. The latter’s first big decision is who will play the title character and he’s chosen another TV veteran.
