We would’ve loved to see everything Mondo had in store for San Diego Comic-Con 2014 last week when it was still available, but that’s not how Mondo works. Besides that one piece we showed, almost none of what the company had planned was revealed until they wanted it to be. That meant fans stood in line at the convention for hours, totally unaware what they were waiting in line for. That’s the power of Mondo but now that it’s all over, the world can finally see everything that was sold (and mostly sold out) at Comic Con.
This year, Mondo focused most of their releases on this week’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Each member of the team got their own individual poster, culminating in the reveal of a full poster by Tyler Stout (his first such release in many months). Luckily, that’ll surely be on sale online later this week and some of the below posters could make it online too. After the jump, see them all, including Ghost in the Shell, Batman 66, The Last of Us and more. Read More »

Most artists have a style. A unique, original look for their art that distinguishes it from the rest. Most artists, however, aren’t Kevin Tong or Martin Ansin. Just when you think either artist is best at one thing, they’ll change it up and do something totally different. Realistic, exaggerated, mechanical, lyrical, Tong and Ansin are unique for being so diverse. And now, the pair are teaming up for a Mondo Gallery show based on fantasy and sci-fi.
Ansin and Tong’s show opens at 7 p.m. March 14 and remains on display through April 12 at the Mondo Gallery in Austin, Texas. Below, check out some of the work including new posters for Alien, Aliens, The Wizard of Oz, Flash Gordon, Prometheus and Psycho. Plus, find some info on the latest Mondo vinyl: the score for Gravity. Read More »

Fans of comics, toys, TV, movies and video games have come to consider San Diego Comic-Con almost like Christmas. We wait patiently all year, and then four days in July pack in months worth of awesome. However, while we’ve come expect that level of crazy for the traditional pop culture stuff, the last few years have done the same for the poster world too. That’s in large part because Mondo has chosen to release dozens of exclusive posters at the event as well as provide some incredible opportunities to fans. This year seems like it will trump them all.
Artists Drew Struzan, Martin Ansin and Olly Moss will all be at the convention signing brand new posters of theirs for The Dark Tower, Conan the Barbarian and Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle, respectively. Plus, each is being sold as a pre-order THIS WEEK to avoid crazy lines. Mondo is also releasing four new Pacific Rim posters, and that’s just the start.
Below, read all the details on the releases and check out our exclusive reveal of the Moss’ Howl’s Moving Castle. Read More »
Most of Mondo’s poster releases are designed as strict limited edition runs. Last year, however, the company did a print for The Dark Knight Rises which was slightly less limited. The poster was made available through a “timed release,” where enough prints will be made to cover orders that come in during a specific time frame.
Mondo’s second timed release is going to be a Man of Steel print by Martin Ansin, which will be available for 72 hours beginning this Thursday night at midnight. (IE, in the first minute of Friday morning, CST.) There will be more severely limited versions of the Ansin print, and also one by Ken Taylor, seen above. All details are below. Read More »
Mondo has already done posters for Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, so it was inevitable we’d soon find out what they had in store for Iron Man 3. The answer consists of three posters by two different artists, Martin Ansin and Phantom City Creative. They’ll go on sale Friday and you can see them in full below. Read More »
