Super Bowl Sunday is still days away, but one of the most anticipated commercials has just made it online. Sort of.
The spot is for Marc Webb‘s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but this is just “part one” with part two airing during the game. Don’t worry though. It’s still a solid 30 seconds of web-slinging action. Check it out below. Read More »

As revelers crowded into New York City’s Times Square last night to ring in the New Year, Electro (Jamie Foxx) was dropping by the iconic intersection for a different, far more nefarious reason.

Seeing so much of Electro well before The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens should have been a tip-off of some sort. For a while, we knew that Marc Webb‘s sequel would feature the Rhino and at least one Osborn, but it seemed like Jamie Foxx, as Electro, would be the real center of the movie.
But we know now that one of the Osborns will end up suiting up as the Green Goblin (or some variant of the character) and that this is all building to a Sinister Six film, in which a bunch of bad guys get to take center stage. And still, it’s Electro that we’re seeing the most of, while Sony keeps the detailed Rhino and Goblin reveals for a later date.
There are two new Electro shots online, and you can see them below. Read More »
The first trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was all about the expanding universe Marc Webb was creating with the sequel. Three villans and counting are going to be a problem for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield). Plus, if that wasn’t enough, he’s still got to deal with the regular people in his life, too.
A German trailer for the film just came online and has a lot more footage, mostly related to Peter’s relationships with Aunt May (Sally Field) and Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). Check it out below. Read More »
You know that little thing about Sony developing other characters related to Spider-Man? It’s far bigger than you thought. The studio just announced the Venom movie that has been rumored for years, and a Sinister Six film as well. That’s right — unlike some other studio approaches, when it comes to Spider-Man and Sony, the spin-off films are for the bad guys. That’s pretty wild.
To make these movies a creative “brain trust” has been formed, including Marc Webb, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner, Ed Solomon, and Drew Goddard. Together they will collaboratively develop these films as a linked set of projects.
More details are below.
