Knight Rider Movie - John Cena & Kevin Hart

Hot on the heels of Knight Rider star David Hasselhoff hoping that Robert Rodriguez could direct him in a Logan-esque film adaptation of the beloved 1980s TV series featuring the Baywatch star as an aged Michael Knight, we have news on the development of a Knight Rider movie, but it’s not going to make David Hasselhoff happy at all.

The Weinstein Company is reportedly taking a crack at making a Knight Rider movie, but rather than taking a more serious approach, the project will follow in the footsteps of 21 Jump Street by making it an action comedy. Furthermore, they want to put John Cena behind the steering wheel as Michael Knight and they’re considering Kevin Hart to provide the voice of the talking car called KITT. Read More »

Knight Rider Movie

David Hasselhoff is currently back in the spotlight for a presumably limited amount of time thanks to his cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, More importantly, Hasselhoff has even more fun performing the disco track “Guardians Inferno” on the film’s soundtrack, not to mention starring in the supplemental music video on the home video release. And the former Baywatch star is using the opportunity to talk about the hopes he has for a big screen adaptation of a familiar property he starred in back in the 1980s.

Knight Rider is a fan favorite show from the 1980s that hasn’t yet had a successful update on film or TV like many other shows from the same decade. If David Hasselhoff had his way, there would already be a successful reboot of Knight Rider, and he’s doing everything he can to try to make it happen. Just recently, we heard Hasselhoff had tried to convince Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn to be at the helm of a Knight Rider movie, but now he wants Robert Rodriguez to direct, and he knows exactly which movie he wants to emulate. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - James Gunn

With the home video release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 arriving this month, director James Gunn has been making the publicity rounds all over the place to talk about the Marvel Studios sequel. Just this weekend brought a far-out music video for the “Guardians Inferno” disco track from the film’s soundtrack, and you can see Gunn shaking his groove thing all over the place.

Thankfully, James Gunn was able to sit still for a little bit to talk about the developing cosmic movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 soundtrack the role that he wanted David Bowie to play before the musician sadly passed away, and how the Mary Poppins reference came to be included in the movie. Plus, “Guardians Inferno” star David Hasselhoff reveals he’s been trying to convince Gunn to tackle a Knight Rider reboot. Find out all about these tidbits below. Read More »

AT&T Everywhere Commercial

Not many people pay attention to commercials on TV anymore, mostly because we’re either streaming content with limited to no commercials, or we’re just watching stuff on our DVR that just allows us to fast forward through them. But while watching the Golden Globes live this past weekend, a recent ad from AT&T caught my eyes (actually, my ears first) because it mashed up a ton of movies and TV shows.

In a new AT&T advertisement promoting the ability to watch a plethora of movies and TV shows on demand from your phone, you’ll find references to Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Game of Thrones, Knight Rider, Cheers, Rocky, Breaking Bad, Sex and the City, Seinfeld, Sesame Street and more.

Justin Lin, the king of car-based franchises, is adding yet another one to his to-do list. While Disney recently shut down their toy-based video game franchise Disney Infinity, it appears Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is doubling down on their efforts with a ton of new expansions packs for LEGO Dimensions. They may not have Disney properties from Marvel and Lucasfilm at their disposal, but they do have no less than 16 new film, television and video game franchises coming to LEGO Dimensions over the next year.

Ahead of next week’s E3 expo, a new LEGO Dimensions trailer shows off all of the new properties coming to the building block video game world, and they’re pretty fantastic. Back to the Future Knight Rider Mash-Up

People mash up movie trailers all the time for us to watch. Just recently someone took footage from Guardians of the Galaxy and cut it in the style of the most recent Suicide Squad trailer. But it took more than some pointing and clicking to create the latest mash-up that was brought to our attention. That’s because this mash-up isn’t a video or even an image. It’s a car.

Some genius has created a vehicle that mashes up the famous DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future and Michael Knight’s classic car K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider. The result is a sleek, black DeLorean that is ready to fight crime with David Hasselhoff at the wheel before traveling in time. Check out the Back to the Future Knight Rider mash-up car below. Chris Pratt ghostbusters

It seems like Chris Pratt is up for every major franchise these days, from Indiana Jones to Ghostbusters. But the operative word there might be “seems.” Pratt himself has now addressed those rumors, and the long and short of it is, well, don’t believe everything you read on the Internet. (Except this, I guess.) Get the Chris Pratt Ghostbusters and Indiana Jones quotes after the jump.  Read More »

Walley World roller coaster

Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California has announced that they will be closing their iconic roller coaster Colossus on August 16th 2014 after more than 36 seasons of operation. The wooden coaster has been in operation for 36 years, and has appeared in many television shows and movies.

The roller coaster was featured in the opening credit sequence of the TV series Step By Step (the Lambert-Foster family rides Colossus) and in National Lampoon’s Vacation as the Walley World roller coaster called Screemy Meemy (although it should be noted that it was not the main metal roller coaster which appeared in this sequence of the film, that coaster is the Magic Mountain Revolution).

The coaster was also featured on tv episodes of Wild & Crazy Kids, Doogie Howser, M.D., Knight Rider, Wonder Woman, and The A-Team. It appeared in other films like the 1982 teen film sex comedy Zapped! starring Scott Baio.

Knight Rider

With the Fast and Furious movies making billions for Universal, it’s no surprise other studios are trying to make their own car films. And if those films are based on well-known properties, that’s even better. Need for Speed is currently in production at DreamWorks, and now The Weinstein Company is moving ahead with a film based on the Eighties TV show Knight Rider.

Brad Copeland, who wrote the 2007 hit Wild Hogs, as well as TV shows Arrested Development and Grounded for Life, has been hired to pen the screenplay about a man who fights crime in his smart, talking car. The original series ran from 1982-1986 and made a star of David Hasselhoff. NBC rebooted the show in 2008, but that only ran one season. The film will presumably start fresh rather than relying on that TV reboot. Read More »
