Coffee Town

CollegeHumor‘s silly videos have entertained many a procrastinator for five- or ten-minute chunks, but now the site’s looking to command people’s attentions for a whole lot longer. The self-proclaimed “comedy leaders” are making their first foray into features this summer with the 87-minute VOD release Coffee Town.

The film features quite an array of TV talents, including director Brad Copeland (Arrested Development) and stars Glenn Howerton (It’s Always Sunny), Steve Little (Eastbound & Down), Ben Schwartz (Parks & Recreation), Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights), Jake Johnson (New Girl) and, um, Josh Groban. Watch the first trailer after the jump.

Comedy website CollegeHumor, best known for its viral shorts, is now looking to bring its irreverent sense of humor to theaters with its debut big-screen feature Coffee Town. Whether the company will actually succeed in its goal to become the next National Lampoon remains to be seen, but the promising array of talent they’ve lined up should help move things along.

Arrested Development writer/producer Brad Copeland has been hired to direct the film, his first, from a script he wrote, while Glenn Howerton (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Steve Little (Eastbound & Down), Ben Schwartz (House of Lies, I guess but he’ll always be Jean-Ralphio to me) and Josh Groban are lined up to star. It’s not the highest profile roster I’ve ever seen, but it’s none too shabby for a company making its first foray into film, either. More details after the jump.

The last film by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, I Love You, Phillip Morris, took quite a winding path to get to theaters in the US. The film stars Steve Carell as a 40-something guy whose relationship with his wife (Julianne Moore) disintegrates, leading him to seek image rehab advice from lothario Ryan Gosling.

The trailer is out now, and it lurks just after the break. Read More »

The Steve Carell / Ryan Gosling comedy that used to be called Crazy, Stupid Love still doesn’t have a new title, but it continues to add actors.

Marisa Tomei and Josh Groban are now in the John Requa and Glenn Ficarra-directed film alongside Emma Stone, Analeigh Tipton and Kevin Bacon. As we’ve said before, the film follows Carell as “a father whose life unravels as he deals with spousal problems and tries to manage his relationship with his children.” [Variety]

After the break, one more film for Clive Owen and one less for Lindsay Lohan. Read More »

Jimmy Kimmel is F*cking Ben Affleck

Jimmy Kimmel is Fucking Ben Affleck

Earlier this month Sarah Silverman recorded a music video announcing to the world that she’s F**king Matt Damon. Damon has long been the punchline of a running joke in Silverman’s boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel’s sign-off (“Apologies to Matt Damon, we’ve run out of time!”).

As a retaliation, Kimmel has recorded a music video himself, announcing that he’s F**king Ben Affleck! The video features cameo appearances from Brad Pitt, Harrison Ford, Cameron Diaz, Joan Jett, Macy Gray, Robin Williams, Don Cheadle, Pete Wentz, Perry Farrell, Benji and Joel Madden, Lance Bass, Huey Lewis, Josh Groban, McLovin, Meatloaf, and former announcer and Mighty Mighty Bosstones frontman Dicky Barrett. Check it out after the jump.
