Han Solo Ralph McQuarrie

By now, Star Wars fans should be well aware of the impact that concept artist Ralph McQuarrie had on the franchise. George Lucas once described McQuarrie’s contribution to Star Wars as “incalculable” because of how integral the artist’s early sketches were to translating Lucas’s script into a visual guide for the talented craftspeople to be able to bring the story to life.

Some of McQuarrie’s unused designs and early ideas have been incorporated into various pieces of Star Wars mythos over the years, from J.J. Abrams bringing his art to the big screen in The Force Awakens to McQuarrie’s Darth Vader design finding its way into Star Wars Rebels. Now we know Han Solo director Ron Howard will keep that trend alive: the filmmaker has shared a photo involving a Han Solo Ralph McQuarrie easter egg that only the most eagle-eyed fans would have been able to spot. Check it out below.

Artemis movie

It’s been three months since the rather shocking movie news broke that Phil Lord and Chris Miller had been fired from the Star Wars anthology film focused on Han Solo. Even though a large portion of the filming on Han Solo was complete, disagreements with Lucasfilm resulted in Lord and Miller being let go and eventually replaced with Ron Howard. While the directing duo may not have been able to reveal their full vision of a galaxy far, far away, they’re still headed back beyond the stars for their next feature, an adaptation of a new novel from the author of The Martian. See details on the next Lord and Miller movie below.

han solo movie

Director Ron Howard is currently hard at work trying to salvage the Han Solo spin-off on the way from Lucasfilm. The filmmaker stepped up to replace directing duo Phil Lord & Chris Miller after some troubles behind the scenes with producers Kathleen Kennedy and Lawrence Kasdan resulted in them splitting from the project. Even with those troubles, we still know very little about the movie itself, though a few new details have come to light.

Along with news of Michael K. Williams no longer having a role in the Han Solo spin-off, with his character being cut entirely after scheduling conflicts kept him from returning for reshoots, the actor revealed another little tidbit that we hadn’t heard before: the name of Emilia Clarke‘s character in the movie. michael k williams cut from han solo

Michael K. Williams has been cut from the Han Solo movie amid reshoots with new director Ron Howard. The Emmy nominee for The Night Of and The Wire alum was a last-minute addition to the Star Wars standalone movie, with his casting announcement only being revealed in March of this year.

However, Williams could not accommodate the reshoots schedule currently being overseen by Howard, who stepped in after original directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller left the project. This resulted in his character being cut altogether.
