By the time fall rolls around, most of the year’s big movie releases are already behind us. But there’s plenty of good stuff coming up on the horizon in 2013, and a trio of projects we’re curious about have just started shooting.
Near Hollywood, the wolf pack (Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, and Ed Helms) has reconvened for The Hangover Part III, with wives (Gillian Vigman, Jamie Chung, and Sacha Barrese) in tow. Across the country in Atlanta, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and franchise newcomer Sam Claflin are getting prepped for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the the Atlantic Ocean, over in the UK, Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost are getting their heads back together for The World’s End. Hit the jump to see images from the set of all three films.

Most of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire cast has been in place for weeks if not months, but as often happens with projects this big, there’s been a last-minute tweak. Fortunately, it’s a positive one: Character actor Jeffrey Wright has just signed on to play Beetee, a former Hunger Games winner from District 3. I want to say that this is the end of major casting for the film, but every time I think we’re just about done something else seems to shift. So I won’t. More after the jump.

Just about all the major pieces are now in place for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and not a moment too soon. During yesterday’s announcement that Sons of Anarchy actor Patrick St. Esprit would be co-starring District 12 Peacekeeper Romulus Thread, I noted that former District 2 victor Enobaria was perhaps the last new character remaining to be cast. Today comes news that the part has just gone to Meta Golding, a Haitian-American actress whose previous credits include Day Break, Criminal Minds, and Dark Blue.
But while most (if not all) of the bigger supporting roles are spoken for at this point, there are still plenty of bit parts remaining to be cast. Hit the jump for more info on Golding’s casting, plus details on how to snag a job as an extra on Catching Fire.

Although The Hunger Games movie franchise is based on a young adult series and features a teenage lead, there’s no shortage of juicy roles for more mature stars as well. Grown-ups Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amanda Plummer, Melissa Leo, and Tony Shaloub have all signed on for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in recent weeks, and now helping to round out the older half of the cast is Lynn Cohen. The stage and movie actress will play Mags, a former Hunger Games victor from District 4 and the mentor of Finnick (Sam Claflin). Read more after the jump.
