'Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D' Trailer

There's only so much that we can get out of seeing a 3D trailer in 2D, especially when the film in question is something as well-known as The Phantom Menace. But on the off chance you didn't see the trailer for Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace 3D on screens this weekend in front of The Three Musketeers, you can now check it out below.

[Trailer removed at the request of Fox. We'll update when the official release is online.]

Unlike the teaser poster for this 3D release, this trailer doesn't shy away from showing young Anakin Skywalker, though it still chooses to pretend that Jar-Jar Binks wasn't a part of the film. And if you've completely soured on the prequels, I'd advise checking out Drew McWeeney's post from this morning about watching Revenge of the Sith with his kids. It probably won't change your mind about the quality of the prequels — it certainly didn't do that for me — but it might be helpful in demonstrating how these films have massive appeal for kids.

Fox and Lucasfilm will open  The Phantom Menace in 3D theaters on February 10, 2012. Written, directed and executive produced by George Lucas, The Phantom Menace stars Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Jake Lloyd, Ian McDiarmid, Ahmed Best, Anthony Daniels, Ray Park, Kenny Baker and Frank Oz.
