We’ve still seen no official imagery from Sony for the studio’s new Spider-Man film — that might not even be the final title — but a few set photos have emerged in the past to show us how Emma Stone looks as classic love interest Gwen Stacy. Now we’ve got some pics of her with Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. And, to no great surprise, he looks a lot like Andrew Garfield. See a couple more images after the break.
These were shot during a day in which scenes were staged at a Los Angeles high school, and seem to capture a classic interlude on the school’s football field bleachers. Not terribly exciting stuff, unless you were really hanging on the question of whether or not the characters might kiss. (Spoiler!)
And I’ll echo what I’ve said before: Sony, you really want to think about getting out an official image of Andrew Garfield in costume before someone snaps a less than flattering picture on set.
Marc Webb directs Spider-Man, which will release on July 3, 2012. Andrew Garfield plays Peter Parker and Spider-Man (well, a couple stuntmen and many computers will also be Spider-Man) and Rhys Ifans is presumably the Lizard. Martin Sheen is Uncle Ben, Sally Field is reportedly cast as Aunt May, and Denis Leary is the father of Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). Campbell Scott (Roger Dodger, The Spanish Prisoner) and Julianne Nicholson (Kinsey, Little Black Book) are Parker’s parents, Richard and Mary Parker, who leave their son an orphan.
Irrfan Khan (Slumdog Millionaire, The Darjeeling Limited) will play Nels Van Adder was a former research assistant who volunteered to become a test subject for a chemical developed by Stromm and Norman Osborn, which results in him becoming a villain named Proto-Goblin. Annie Parisse (Rubicon, National Treasure) will play Van Atter’s wife. Chris Zylka has been cast as Eugene ‘Flash’ Thompson.Cool Posts From Around the Web:
