‘Kane & Lynch’ Loses Yet Another Director; Wayne Kramer, Antoine Fuqua and F. Gary Gray Possible Replacements

Yes, you read that headline correctly. The most recent director for Kane & Lynch, Patrick Alessandrin (District 13: Ultimatum) has walked.
This is only the latest directorial change for the video game adaptation that is to star Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx. Previous possible directors included Wayne Kramer and F. Gary Gray, and those men are both being sought as possible replacements for Alessandrin, along with Antoine Fuqua.
Let’s recap the history of the production, which is getting to be quite a mess. Stunt coordinator Simon Crane was originally set to direct, but he moved on and negotiations were reportedly underway with Wayne Kramer (Running Scared). Then, weeks later, F. Gary Gray was also said to be in talks. Finally, Patrick Alessandrin was hired, for real, and the film was set to shoot in October.
Now the LA Times cites multiple sources who say that Alessandrin has quit, and a spokeswoman from financier Nu Image/Millennium told the paper that “the director has not been chosen” and the “start date is TBD.” The LAT theorizes that it’ll be first quarter 2011 before the film can shoot.
Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx are still attached to star, but one has to wonder if that will change as the schedule is pushed again.
Willis is playing Adam “Kane” Marcus, “a mercenary who makes an unlikely alliance with the schizophrenic killer named James Lynch (Foxx). The duo is forced on a mission to retrieve a stolen microchip.”Cool Posts From Around the Web:
