New Image Of Leonardo DiCaprio In 'Django Unchained'

We're six months away from the release of Quentin Tarantino's new film Django Unchained, which is far enough out that each small new look at the film is notable. Perhaps you've seen the trailers (domestic and international) that start to show how a German bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) frees a slave named Django (Jamie Foxx) and recruits him to hunt down some slavers with whom Django is unfortunately acquainted.

There's a lot more to the story than that, and much of it hinges on the big-time plantation owner and slaver Calvin Candie, played by Leonardo DiCaprio. It's been great to see Leo in his first turn as an out-and out villain, and you can get a new look at him below.

Django Unchained hits on December 25.

Set in the South two years before the Civil War, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Academy Award®-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award®-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.

Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South's most wanted criminals with Django by his side. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.
