Fantastic Four and the Not So Fantastic Galactus

GalactusFor months now we’ve waited for some small peek at the Fantastic Four mega-villain. It seems like only a few weeks ago when Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer director Tim Story told us that Galactus’ design was not yet complete.

There continues to be much speculation about Galactus. Major speculation. We haven’t finished the design of him/it so be careful about what you read and believe. Trust me, no one knows. One thing’s for sure, you can expect to see him/it. It will be pretty powerful. I’m having a lot of fun with the concept and believe me – MOST will be satisfied.

We quietly wondered to ourselves, how the design was not yet final, and the film was due in theaters in a matter of weeks. I thought big CG FX shots took time, especially ones that involve giant robot creatures.

Now we have a possible answer, and you’re not going to like what you’re about to read. AICN is reporting that Galactus could take the form of… a storm cloud. That’s right, Silver Surfer will be fighting a storm cloud. If this is true, I don’t know how Tim Story could believe that MOST fans will be “satisfied.”

Sometimes called the Devourer of Worlds or Ravager of Planets, Galactus is an enormously powerful being who must “feed” on the energy of planets to survive. He has consumed countless planets, resulting in the elimination of entire extra-terrestrial civilizations. He is pictured to the right.

Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer hits theaters on June 15th 2007.
