First Look: Colin Farrell In 'Total Recall'

Yesterday we saw the first images of sets for the new Total Recall sets, on them some white-suited troopers. Now we've got the first image of Colin Farrell in the lead role of Doug Quaid, a factory worker who learns, or thinks he learns, that he is really a spy for one of two nation states, Euromerica or New Shanghai. See the full image after the break.

The scan is from the same EW issue that gave us those new photos from The Amazing Spider-Man. It's a great shot of Colin Farrell, and the accompanying text, not yet online, says that we can expect a "less jokey" film than the 1990 Arnold Schawarzenegger version. Colin Farrell's interview suggests that the Arnie one-liners are gone — no real surprise there.

Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard) directed, from a script by Kurt Wimmer, Mark Bomback, and James Vanderbilt. Also in the cast are Bryan Cranston, Bill Nighy, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, and John Cho.

Welcome to Rekall, the company that with one little implant can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Doug Quaid (Colin Farrell), the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his ordinary existence. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. With the line between fantasy and reality blurred and the fate of his world hanging in the balance, Quaid goes on the run to discover his true identity, his true love, and his true fate. Based on Philip K. Dick's classic story "I Can Remember It For You Wholesale," this brand new take on some of his most visionary ideas is directed by Len Wiseman and stars Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, John Cho and Bryan Cranston.
