Will Chloe Moretz Be In 'Dark Shadows'?

UPDATE: Deadline and Variety both report that Chloe Moretz is in talks for the Dark Shadows role. She'll play Carolyn, daughter to Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer). Original article follows.

Time for a little speculation. Just a couple days back Thomas McDonell was cast in Tim Burton's Dark Shadows; he'll play the young version of Johnny Depp's character Barnabas Collins. But his casting was 'announced' a couple days earlier in a message board post, which also said that Chloe Moretz was cast. And now the young actress is saying that she's landed a gig in something huge, but won't say what the film is. Are they one and the same?

So, first is the IMDB post that announced the casting of Thomas McDonell two days before it was formally announced. This comes via Badass Digest:

Please don't quote me on this, but I heard from a fairly reliable inside source that Chloe Moretz (Kick Ass, Let Me In) is going to play Carolyn (which surprised me a bit), and that Thomas McDonell (Disney's upcoming Prom) is going to play "young Barnabas," which makes sense as he does definitely resemble Johnny Depp...

And then there's this quote from Chloe Moretz, speaking to MTV this past weekend:

I just booked a huge project last night...it's huge! Watch out, you're going to be freaking out, cause I was. [...] It's big, and it's crazy, and it involves some really cool actors. And it's huge.

So: is the 'huge' thing Dark Shadows? Given that it is the next film from major director/actor team Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, whose last film made over a billion dollars worldwide, that could count as huge. Devin at Badass Digest also mentions that everything he's been told about the film from crew and actors is that it will be funny — not so much a classic old-school Tim Burton tweaked gothic drama then?
