Jill Marie Jones Joins 'Ash Vs Evil Dead' As Co-Star To Bruce Campbell

Bruce Campbell plays the title character in Ash vs Evil Dead, the Starz-based TV series that Sam Raimi and his crew are concocting as the follow up to Raimi's three Evil Dead films. But Campbell won't be the only one bashing deadites in the ten-part series. We know he's got a couple of supporting characters backing him up. Now, he'll also be flanked by Jill Marie Jones (Girlfriends and Sleepy Hollow), who will be Campbell's Ash vs Evil Dead co-star.

She'll appear as a former cop who is initially tracking Ash as the major suspect in a crime, before realizing they all have bigger problems to deal with.

THR reports a few more details on the character to be played by Jill Marie Jones:

[She's] Amanda Fisher, a disgraced Michigan state trooper who, following the grisly murder of her partner, sets out to find Ash and prove his responsibility for the crime. But as she soon learns, Ash and his cohorts may be mankind's only hope against the plague of the evil dead.

She joins the cast that also includes Ray Santiago as "Pablo Simon Bolivar, an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash's loyal sidekick—a Sancho Panza to Ash's Don Quixote" and Dana DeLorenzo as "Kelly Maxwell, a moody wild child trying to outrun her past."

Here's the official synopsis:

Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons–personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its 'Evil' grip.

Ash vs. Evil Dead shoots in New Zealand in the spring of this year, and will air on Starz later in 2015.
