Upcoming Arnold Schwarzenegger Film Projects Are On Hold

I know, you thought I was going to say 'terminated' rather than 'on hold.' And I really want to. Does Arnold Schwarzenegger's divorce and BabyGate mean that we won't have to suffer The Governator? The answer to that question is unclear, but for the time being the former Governor and reactivated actor has a couple small things to deal with, and film projects including The Terminator 5 and Cry Macho have been put on hold. We don't know how long this status will last, or if the projects will go away altogether. Read the T5 obituary, er, 'on hold announcement,' after the break.

A statement from CAA, as via MSNBC, says,

Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines. This includes Cry Macho, The Terminator franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides.

More info on this as we get it. The wording there — 'other projects under consideration' — may include The Governator, and it may not. (We don't know how much of the show has been completed.) I would assume that it does, especially since a kids' show starring Arnie seems about as likely to go over well right now as would a JDL PSA directed by Lars Von Trier. I bet Megan Ellison is a little pissed off right now, too.

UPDATE: TMZ reports that The Governator is definitely among the crop of projects stalled by this announcement.
