Wet Hot American Summer First Day of Camp header

Summer is already well underway, but summer camp is just getting started. Netflix has revealed the first full trailer for Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, the eight-episode prequel that takes you back to two months before the events of the 2001 movie.

The video brings back a ton of Camp Firewood favorites, such as Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, and Janeane Garofalo, as well as new characters played by Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Jason Schwartzman, and more. And then there are some people who fall in between, like H. Jon Benjamin in non-can form, and Michael Showalter as Ronald Reagan. Watch the Wet Hot American Summer prequel trailer after the jump.

Netflix unveiled the Wet Hot American Summer prequel trailer on YouTube.

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp has an absolutely killer cast, including many people who are much more famous now than they were 14 years ago. (After months of Ant-Man trailers and TV spots, it’s especially hilarious to see Paul Rudd say things like “You telling me you don’t want to hack yourself off a slice of this long greasy dick?”) The trailer devolves into winking self-parody as it scrambles to list them all. But the real question is whether David Wain and his crew can recreate the same magic of the original film. Fortunately, all signs so far point to yes.

Netflix releases Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp on July 31.
