The Wrestler Wins The Golden Lion in Venice

Yesterday we talked about how Darren Aronofsky‘s The Wrestler was creating big buzz at the Venice Film Festival. The film has now been awarded the festival’s top prize, the Golden Lion. This is bitter sweet for Aronofsky, whose 2006 film The Fountain premiered at Venice and was met with lackluster reviews. I’ll be seeing the film tomorrow night at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere, so look out for my review on Monday morning.
