Yesterday was Valentine’s Day, and while you could have headed out to theaters to see The Choice with your significant other, or Deadpool if you have a much cooler better half, there’s a good chance that you stayed in to watch The Notebook for the 1,000th time. So if the favorite romance that started the love for Nicholas Sparks is fresh on your mind, then you might enjoy the Honest Trailer for the movie that reminds us all that no matter how much we love each other, we’re all going to die.
Here’s The Notebook Honest Trailer from Screen Junkies:
Even though it’s the job of Honest Trailers to take movies to task, I’m not sure that I buy into some of the jabs taken at the movie. Sure, The Notebook is about as sappy as a romance can get, but both Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams elevate the material to being a truly touching romance. But you can’t help but feel bad for James Marsden, a perfectly likable guy who is strung along, only to be abandoned for a “happy” ending.
As usual, it’s the roll call for the cast that makes the video truly worth it. Specifically, naming Joan Allen as Julia Stiles suddenly made me realize just how alike each of them look. Allen could easily pass for Stiles from the future, so someone should probably go ahead and work on a time travel movie with those two actresses right now. Or maybe in the Jason Bourne series, time travel will be introduced and that’s why Stiles has become Bourne’s reliable ally. It all makes sense now.Cool Posts From Around the Web:
