NBC is ready to birth a new version of Rosemary’s Baby, based on the same Ira Levin novel that was adapted into Roman Polanski’s landmark film of the same name. And while this new four-hour miniseries is said to be based more on the book than the film, let’s not kid ourselves — it will be very difficult to keep Polanski’s influence from creeping in. Scott Abbott scripted this take.

Christmas came and went last week, but Marvel’s got a couple more gifts for us before we launch into 2014. The studio has just revealed the first still and the official synopsis for Guardians of the Galaxy, coming next summer with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel in the lead roles and James Gunn at the helm. Woody Harrelson‘s last feature role was as a time-traveling turkey in the animated family flick Free Birds, but don’t let that trick you into thinking he’s lost his edge. The new TV spot for Scott Cooper‘s Out of the Furnace has arrived, and he’s full-on terrifying in it.
The gritty drama stars Christian Bale as Russell, a steel mill worker whose Iraq vet brother Rodney (Casey Affleck) falls into the criminal underworld and eventually disappears. When the police fail to find Rodney, Russell sets out to discover the truth for himself. Check out the new video after the jump.

Miles Davis was among the most spectacular talents of the 20th century, fiery and commanding on stage, and fearless as a songwriter. He pushed jazz forward in ways that are incredible, coming from just one man. Offstage, his life was complicated, as his temper could be just as explosive as his music. He dealt with drug addiction and had complicated personal relationships with women, and with many figures in the music scene.
While Davis appeared as an actor in some minor roles (he was in Scrooged!), he has never been portrayed on screen in a major way. That will change when Don Cheadle stars as Davis in Kill the Trumpet Player, which will also mark Cheadle’s debut as a feature director. Crazy Heart director Scott Cooper returns this winter with Out of the Furnace, a crime thriller that features an all star cast including Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe, Zoë Saldana and Sam Shepard.
The first trailer made the film look great, and this new one outlines the story a bit better, so if you watch this you’ll start to know how brothers played by Bale and Affleck run afoul of a local criminal played by Harrelson, and how that sets up a conflict that will probably mess everyone up in the end. One year after Guardians of the Galaxy was officially announced at Comic-Con, the Guardians of the Galaxy cast and crew descended upon Hall H with the first footage from the new movie. Guardians is in Day 13 or 14 of shooting in London, but the team took the day off to fly into San Diego for Comic-Con. They were rewarded with an enthusiastic reception.
Director James Gunn and stars Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Benicio del Toro, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, and Chris Pratt were at the panel to present the reel, as well as to dish out a few spare details about their characters. Hit the jump to get the details.

Marvel Studios knocked its panel out of the park today in Hall H at Comic Con. The third film on the schedule was James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy. Until today we’d seen only some concept art showing off the characters in a general sense.
