Avatar came out six years ago. It doesn’t feel like it’s been that long, but that’s how long it’s been since director James Cameron‘s 3D fantasy film made almost $3 billion dollars. You can’t really dismiss a movie that made that much money as a fluke, but some wonder if the movie just hit at the right time. Is Pandora a world people really want to return to? Are audiences aching to go on three more adventures with Jake Scully (Sam Worthington)? The people who ask those questions are whom Cameron wants to prove wrong in 2017.
After the jump, read the director’s latest comments on the Avatar sequels.

Just last week, we learned that there was a female Ocean’s Eleven in development with Sandra Bullock taking the lead role akin to George Clooney‘s Danny Ocean. There are even rumblings that the story might actually take place in the same universe as the original heist trilogy from Steven Soderbergh, with Clooney potentially making a cameo as Ocean. But the big question is, who will surround Bullock as the rest of the heist crew?
We decided to put together a prospective cast who would be perfect to team up with Sandra Bullock for some kind of heist. Obviously the characters won’t be exactly the same as they are in Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven, but since we’re just having fun assembling a dream cast, we’ve stuck to the characters pretty closely to put this list together for the female Ocean’s Eleven cast. Right now Zoe Saldana is the star of three successful film franchises. She plays Uhura in the rebooted Star Trek film series, Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy and Neytiri in Avatar, all with upcoming sequels in the next few years. So her casting in an upcoming graphic novel adaptation should be a welcome addition.
A new report has Zoe Saldana joining I Kill Giants, an adaptation of Joe Kelly‘s graphic novel of the same name that is being produced by Chris Columbus, the director who kicked off the Harry Potter franchise with the first two films. Read More »
Following the Best Picture winning true drama Argo, the film’s star and director Ben Affleck lined up an adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s Prohibition-set crime drama Live by Night, and originally planned to shoot in the fall of 2013. However, his new gig as Batman for Warner Bros. Pictures (not to mention directing a solo Batman film for 2018) kept him from getting the project off the ground immediately and the project was pushed back to 2016.
Thankfully, it sounds like the project is finally happening as Warner Bros. has given the film a greenlight to finally begin production this fall, assuming nothing else ends up changing the plan again. Find out more about Ben Affleck directing Live by Night after the jump. Read More »

The USS Enterprise is ready to embark on its new mission. Star Trek 3 has reportedly begun shooting near Vancouver, Canada, and stars Zoe Saldana and Zachary Quinto have shared a couple of cute photos from set to mark the occasion.
Even as production gets underway, though, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the new movie — like the title. But we might be getting closer to an answer on that front, as still more evidence has surfaced it’ll be called Star Trek Beyond. Get all the latest Star Trek 3 updates after the jump. Read More »
While Captain America: Civil War is currently in production down in Atlanta, another Marvel sequel is still getting prepared to go in front of cameras next year. Guardians of the Galaxy 2, the sequel to last year’s hit sci-fi action adventure from director James Gunn, doesn’t arrive until May 5th, 2017, but the first draft of the script has just been completed. Oh, and in case you were wondering if it’s good, the film’s star Chris Pratt says it made him cry.

There’s a Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana Bad Robot movie that you haven’t seen yet. That’s pretty cool, right? Plus, the movie is great to boot. I’m talking of a film called Infinitely Polar Bear, which premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. Sony Pictures Classics picked up the film soon after its Sundance debut (which is now over a year ago) but we haven’t heard anything about it since.
Now, finally, a trailer is out for the film. It’s getting released internationally in March and the US will get it on June 19. Check out the first Infinitely Polar Bear trailer below.
UPDATE – A different US trailer, including a quote from yours truly, is now online. Read More »
