With the opening of J.J. AbramsStar Trek Into Darkness just around the corner, we can hardly turn around these days without stumbling across a new trailer or clip or TV spot. Today we have two new videos. The first is the Japanese trailer, which contains a bit of new footage, and the second is a promo centered on Spock (Zachary Quinto) and voiced by John Harrison (Benedict Cumberbatch).

In inanimate marketing, meanwhile, we have a new still of the other, non-Enterprise ship that’s been spotted in promos, plus character posters for Spock, John Harrison, Kirk (Chris Pine), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Carol Marcus (Alice Eve), Sulu (John Cho), Bones (Karl Urban), Scotty (Simon Pegg), and Chekov (Anton Yelchin). See it all after the jump.

In just over a month, J.J. Abrams‘ second Star Trek film, Star Trek Into Darkness, opens its regular run. (The film will actually premiere in April, with galas set for different countries beginning with an Australian event on April 23.)

As we hit the last stretch until the film opens up to a general audience, we’ve got a new international poster promising the end of the Earth, along with high-res versions of photos that have appeared in magazines and online over the past week. The pics show much of the cast — which includes Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller — while the poster continues the image of Cumberbatch’s villain as a dominating force. In case you were wondering, yes, Kevin Smith is still pretty sure Clerks III will be his best film ever. It’s not clear whether Rosario Dawson totally agrees with that sentiment, but apparently she wants in too. Also after the jump:

  • Gru is an awkward parent in Despicable Me 2 clip
  • Terry Crews goofs around in a Cloudy 2 featurette

Star Trek Into Darkness MC-9321

There are officially less than two months until J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness warps into theaters. Doesn’t it feel like we’ve been talking about this film forever? That’s because we have. The first article /Film wrote about the film went up a mere month after 2009′s Star Trek was in theaters. You can read it here. In it, the question about the potential that Khan would be in the movie was discussed. Going on four years later, we still don’t know that answer for sure, even though the latest trailer certainly suggests it.

A new batch of images won’t add any clarity to that topic, but they will add some fire to your already burning desire to see the film. In the pics, we see several members of the U.S.S. Enterprise engaged in what seem to be heavy gun battles, and we can look at a piece of tech named MC-9321. Read More »

Star Trek Into Darkness Poster header

Here’s the actual second poster for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness. If you’re having flashbacks to Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol while looking at it, you aren’t alone. In color scheme and composition, the posters are incredibly similar. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, though. Ghost Protocol was a fantastic sequel and if Into Darkness lives up to that, we’re going to be very happy come May 17. Check out the new poster below. Read More »

We’re less than two months away from finally seeing Star Trek Into Darkness. That’s a nice feeling, isn’t it? J.J. Abrams and his crew have been hard at work finishing the IMAX 3D film that will tell the continuing stories of the U.S.S. Enterprise and a brand new international trailer has just come online to pump you up a bit. And pump you up it will.

It features tons of new footage and major stories points from the still somewhat mysterious film starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch (above, featured very prominently in this trailer), Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Bruce Greenwood, Peter Weller, Alice Eve and many more. J.J. Abrams is famous for his devotion to secrecy, but even he knows when to open up and perform a good deed. After a Reddit post made the rounds last week about the wish of a Trekkie stricken with terminal cancer, the filmmaker got in touch with the man and his wife to offer a private screening of Star Trek Into Darkness.

Though the couple were “sworn to secrecy” about the details of the picture, they reported that they enjoyed it “immensely” and were touched by Abrams’ gesture. Read more after the jump, and then check out some new high-res stills from the film.
