Everyone has been going crazy over Star Wars: The Force Awakens this week, which means some new photos from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice got a little overshadowed by all the buzz from a galaxy far, far away. The new images don’t reveal much from the forthcoming face-off between DC Comics’ most iconic superheroes, but new details about the prologue involving Bruce Wayne and the origin of his rage and distrust of Superman are worth pointing out. Check ’em out after the jump. Read More »

Ever since Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) was cast in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, fans haven’t been quite sure what to make of the actor playing Lex Luthor. It’s a completely out-of-the-box choice, which, to me, is exciting. The glimpses of his performance in the Comic-Con trailer teased an eccentric take on the character, but a new piece of Batman v Superman viral marketing gives us a better idea of what to expect from the new Lex Luthor. Learn about Superman’s adversary after the jump.

There’s been a lot of speculation about Man of Steel 2: when it’s coming, who’s directing it, what it’s about, whether it’s happening at all. Now director Zack Snyder has spoken up to clarify that yes, he is making a Man of Steel sequel — and it’s titled Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. There have been a lot of rumors swirling about the future of the Man of Steel lately. The sequel to his 2013 revival from Zack Snyder has been rumored to be one of the projects that Mad Max: Fury Road helmer George Miller could direct, but the film has also been said to be on “permanent hold” until Warner Bros. Pictures really figures out what they want to do with the Big Blue Boy Scout.
In addition, there have been rumblings that Warner Bros. wants more Batman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and less of the Man of Steel (though Snyder may have had a reasonable explanation for that). Still things have been somewhat uncertain for the future of Superman in the DC Comics universe.
However, fans probably shouldn’t worry because Superman will always be an integral part of this comic book world, especially with Justice League on the way. And a new rumor actually debunks the “permanent hold” status of the sequel, revealing a potential Man of Steel 2 release date window as well as another potential DC Comics project for George Miller. Though the DC Extended Universe began with Man of Steel, we’ve been hearing Superman might take a backseat to Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In a recent interview, director Zack Snyder confirmed that is indeed the case, but he offers a pretty good reason for that apparent imbalance. We’re in a boom time for superhero movies, with something like 20 more planned for the next five years. Nevertheless, Steven Spielberg predicted last week that it wouldn’t last, saying the genre would “go the way of the Western.” And surprisingly, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder doesn’t necessarily disagree.
“I feel like he’s right,” Snyder admitted. Still, he thinks Batman and Superman will stand the test of time — unlike, say, “flavor of the week Ant-Man.” Read the Zack Snyder Steven Spielberg superhero comments after the jump. Read More »
As of now, following his role as The Dark Knight in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, we already know that Ben Affleck is going to stick around as Batman for another solo movie that he will also write and direct. However, it sounds like Warner Bros. wants to stay in the Batfleck business for a little longer.
A new rumor has surfaced saying that a screening of Batman v. Superman just took place for the film’s crew and Warner Bros. executive, and Zack Snyder‘s working cut of the movie got a standing ovation from those in attendance. That’s not hard to achieve in a room of people that worked on a movie, but reportedly Ben Affleck does such a good job in this movie that the studio wants him for an entire Batman trilogy instead of just one more more.

Last fall, a rumor surfaced that Robin would be appearing in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and in a way unlike any version of the Dark Knight’s sidekick we’ve seen on screen before. This incarnation of the character was rumored to be female. And there were even rumblings that Zack Snyder‘s Sucker Punch star Jena Malone was playing the character.
However, we’ve since seen that Robin is likely dead in Batman v. Superman, seemingly killed by The Joker in a quick shot glimpsed in the most recent trailer that debuted at Comic-Con. The suit the sidekick wore doesn’t look to belong to a female with the physique of Jena Malone, and is likely a young man played by the director’s son Eli Snyder.
So if Jena Malone isn’t playing Robin, then just who is her character? We may finally have an answer. Find out more about Jena Malone in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice after the jump, but beware of potential spoilers! Read More »
