In casting news tonight, we’ve learned that Harvey Keitel is joining those crazy Fockers. He’s signed on for Little Fockers, the sequel to Meet the Fockers, and the Focker-pun free title Meet the Parents. He’s joining returning cast members Ben Stiller, Robert DeNiro, Teri Polo, and Owen Wilson. Keitel will be playing the role of a contractor employed by Stiller’s character. The film will be directed by Paul Weitz (American Pie, About A Boy), who’s surely looking to move on after Cirque du Freak bombed.
I liked the first film well enough, but I’m really wondering how much longer this franchise is going to live on. Will we see the baby Fockers in question growing up while having to deal with their unfortunate last name? Perhaps a Future Fockers down the line? The possibilities are focking endless!

Here’s the third and final part of /Film’s Star Trek press conference coverage from Smoky Old Londinium. As I sat listening to JJ Abrams and his lead cast chew over just how to hype the film to the assembled Brits, outside stalked Jack the Ripper through a real pea souper off in search of jellied eels. Or maybe not. Maybe London’s not like that at all and its all mods and miniskirts. I forget now.
Why not read part one or part two, or both parts, of my conference transcript in preparation for this epic finale? Reading is good for you.
After the break, the last marathon run of questions and answers. This is where you’ll get to read the inevitable discussions of the next Trek film and plenty more besides.

On the afternoon of the UK Star Trek premiere, Paramount laid on a press conference in the Mirror room of Claridges to pit JJ Abrams and lead cast against (as conference referee Mark Dolan had it) “the members of Her Majesty’s Press.” We have already started coverage of the event (read part one here), but here is the next juicy installment. Particularly fun: this is the bit where /Film’s question is put forward (and, for the record, it received the two most animated responses of the afternoon).

The London press conference for JJ Abrams’ Star Trek took place today, and I was there to take part. I did manage to get a question in, to which Abrams, and Pegg gave their answers. Everybody at the table gave their responses not only to the inquiries of the assembled press, but also questions submitted by viewers of Sky Movies.
Present were John Cho, Eric Bana, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, JJ Abrams, Chris Pine, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban. This is the first section of our coverage – touching on Simon Pegg’s childhood, Pine’s studies of Shatner, Quinto’s career plan and more… with extra installments to come soon. Are you sitting comfortably? Then I’ll begin.

I’m trying to catch up on some of the news I missed while I was running around the Las Vegas casinos at ShoWest. While I was in Vegas, Paramount Pictures has announced that JJ Abrams‘ Star Trek has been rated PG-13 for “sci-fi action and violence and brief sexual content”. The rating isn’t much of a shock. I don’t think anyone was expecting an R-Rated movie. The studio has also released three new production photos, two of which can be seen after the jump.

Paramount Pictures has released a batch of trading cards for Star Trek, which reveal some cool unseen sequences and characters. Most notable is Diora Baird as the Orion slave girl. You’ve seen her before kissing Kirk in the trailers, but this is the first time we get a real good look at the character. Other images include Old Spock (Leonard Nimoy) coming face to face with Young Spock (Zachary Quinto), and Scotty’s weird alien sidekick friend. Check those two photos out after the jump.

The new Star Trek movie trailer features a ton of new footage, and much of it goes by in quick cuts. As we’ve done with some of the big movie trailers in the past, I have captured 60 high resolution (actually, 1080p high definition) images, which you can flip through at your leisure after the jump.
