X-Men DOFP Header

The first press screenings of Bryan Singer‘s X-Men: Days of Future Past took place on Thursday in preparation for this weekend’s press junket. Originally, attending press were going to be embargoed from posting their opinions, but Twitter blew up immediately following the film. It seems the reaction was so overwhelmingly positive, 20th Century Fox had no problem letting people know they’ve apparently got the goods this summer.

Spider-Man X-men

Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 grossed an estimated $92 million in its opening weekend, which was actually a huge win for 20th Century Fox. Why? Because Marvel fans who sat through the Spider-Man credits were greeted with a teaser scene for Fox’s upcoming mutant sequel, X-Men: Days of Future Past. Jackman Fassbender McAvoy X-Men DOFP

Fans are sure to have many questions after they see Bryan Singer‘s X-Men: Days of Future Past, but one they have going in can now be answered. At the end of Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class, Magneto (Michael Fassbender) sends a bullet into the spine of Charles Xavier (James McAvoy). We then see Charles in a wheelchair, and we know  he stays there for pretty much the rest of his life.

Fast-forward to the first footage from the sequel, Days of Future Past, in which Charles Xavier is walking again. How could that be? Well, 20th Century Fox has just released a new clip that explains. godzilla The 2014 Summer Movie Wager

Its that time of year again. Jeff Cannata (formerly of the Totally Rad Show, now host of NLB and DLC, and a frequent co-host of the /Filmcast) has thrown down the gauntlet, and once again challenged /Film to compete with him in what has become an annual tradition: the Summer Movie Wager. Every year in the past I would make a guest appearance on the Totally Rad Show for this segment, but with that show now disbanded we have taken on the job of hosting this contest on /Film.

This year the contest includes Germain Lussier, Jeff Cannata and myself in a game is to decide what will be the highest grossing films of the Summer. It’s a free-for-all; the person with the best score wins. But it isn’t just that easy — not only do the participants need to predict what 10 films will be the highest grossing films domestically, but we need to place them in order. Hugh Jackman WWE Raw

Hugh Jackman appeared on WWE’s premiere television show Raw last night to promote the upcoming release of X-Men: Days of Future Past. Not only did the Wolverine star appear on the wrestling show but he got into the ring to face-off against legendary X-Men villain Magneto — played this time not by Michael Fassbender or Ian McKellen, but WWE superstar Damien Sandow dressed in a classic Magneto costume.
