MTV just announced that the TV series based on Wes Craven’s Scream will premiere on June 30, and along with that announcement comes the first Scream TV series trailer. Right off the bat the trailer delivers a few elements common to the films in the series: a young woman alone, a horrifying death, and meta-commentary on the nature of horror storytelling. MTV Gives Series Order to ‘Scream’

Teen Wolf has guaranteed company in the film-to-TV crowd on MTV. The cable company has given a series order to Scream, the show based on Wes Craven’s defining horror series. We’ve heard, however, that the show at this point won’t feature Ghostface, the recognizable masked killer who made his on-screen debut in the original 1996 film. (The Ghostface mask was actually an existing creation, owned by the company FunWorld.) But that doesn’t mean there won’t be another killer on the loose. After all, there’s no Scream without a killer. Scream pilot cast

MTV and Dimension TV are moving forward with the development of a Scream TV series, after first announcing the concept over a year ago. Jamie Travis (For A Good Time Call, Faking It) has been hired to direct the pilot, and a cast of young actors, including Willa Fitzgerald (Alpha House, Royal Pains), Amy Forsyth (Torment, Reign), John Karna (Premature, The Neighbors), has been chosen for the major roles.
