It started with Guillermo Del Toro, moved onto Duncan Jones, Zach Snyder and now the latest director to be chosen for Mondo’s Director Series is Wes Craven. The man responsible for creating two of the most enduring horror franchises of all time, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream, has the fourth film in the latter series hitting theaters on Friday and, to celebrate, artist Alex Pardee has immortalized Craven’s two most influential films. Later artists will create posters for other Craven films Swamp Thing, The Last House of the Left and The Hills Have Eyes. (What? No My Soul To Take poster?)

After the jump, check out the full images of each poster, read a quote from Craven and find out when you’ll be able to pick these up. Read More »

Scream 4 is done. It’s out there. And as we ride a wave of publicity, press screenings and more leading up towards the April 15 release, fans will have to dodge an obstacle course of spoilers revealing who dies, when they die, how they die and, of course, who or what is Ghostface this time around. For the record, I have no idea – I’m also avoiding spoilers at all costs – so feel free to read on.

Besides the onslaught of spoilers, one of the film’s biggest controversies was the reported creative differences surrounding franchise creator and the screenwriter of this fourth film, Kevin Williamson. We heard that sometime in the middle of production he left and Ehren Kruger (who wrote Scream 3 and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) came in. Director Wes Craven has finally spoken out on these issues and while you can read his comments below, beware that we’re also going to include some new photos, one of which is surely considered a spoiler. Feel free to read the quotes below but then watch out for the spoiler warning. Read More »

Wes Craven is currently doing additional photography on Scream 4, and has confirmed on Twitter that Community/Mad Men star Alison Brie will be making a cameo. He even tweeted the above image, stating “@AlisonBrie gets ready for her close-up.” It seems like Scream 4 will be challenging The Muppets movie for the movie most overloaded with cameos in 2011. New Posters: ‘Scream 4′ and ‘Bridesmaids’

When two posters debut around the same time, it’s a great window into how creative print marketing can be. In 2011, posters are certainly less important than were in in the past and most of the time they speak for themselves. Things like similar color schemes, poses and floating heads all show that no matter how much thought is put into a poster, studios usually settle on something tried and true.

The two posters released today are perfect evidence of this. First is Scream 4, which is a near carbon copy of every single other film in the franchise with little change, and then there’s Bridesmaids, which portrays a bunch of comedians in bad-ass poses that makes you want to see the film immediately. Check both posters out below the jump. Read More »
