Even though director Josh Trank is no longer on board the second Star Wars Anthology film, which is reportedly about Boba Fett, we’re still hoping for the best when it comes to his reboot of Fantastic Four at 20th Century Fox. So far the trailers have painted a pretty serious picture for the comic book property that isn’t exactly known for being dark and gritty, so this will likely be very different from the previous big screen iteration of the super powered quartet.
Now a new international trailer has surfaced that’s almost identical to the previous domestic trailer we saw, but there are some bits of new footage of our heroes showing off their powers (which we also saw shown off in a new commercial). So far, the trailers for Josh Trank‘s Fantastic Four have shown us brief glimpses of the characters’ powers. We haven’t really gotten a chance, however, to visually study each ability. We now have a pretty decent chance to do that in a very odd place. Movietickets.com has released a commercial featuring the Fantastic Four and, for twenty seconds, it’s probably the best look yet we’ve seen from the movie…until it becomes an app commercial. But for 20 seconds, you get a really great look at what Josh Trank has in store for us on August 7. Check it out below. Read More »

Fantastic Four fans, hold on to yourselves. We’ve known the new film, directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle) will have some radically different concepts going on than we’re used to seeing in the classic Fantastic Four comics. We haven’t seen much at all from the new Duncan Jones movie Warcraft, but at Blizzcon today the gates are opening on some of the film’s story. We’ve known most of the cast of the film, which includes Ben Foster, Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Toby Kebbell, Rob Kazinsky, Dominic Cooper, Daniel Wu and Clancy Brown. Until today we weren’t certain about most of their characters beyond the fact that Foster would play Medivh. Now we know roles for all the major players, and we’ve even got early renders of a couple of them in character. Meet the Warcraft movie characters below.

Cool Posts From Around the Web:
For the last few years Andy Serkis has been at the center of the conversation about actors in performance-capture roles being nominated for Oscars. The Lord of the Rings series brought Serkis huge attention for his work as the actor behind Gollum, and in the years since he first dominated the screen in The Two Towers we’ve seen performance capture become a frequent, even routine part of the filmmaking process.
Now Fox has revealed that it will campaign for Serkis to land a Best Supporting Actor nod for his role as Caesar in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Yep, that’s a supporting actor nomination, rather than a reach for recognition in the Best Actor category. Read More »

A Monster Calls, the children’s fantasy novel by Patrick Ness, have paved the way to the A Monster Calls movie, and the cast is shaping up to be excellent. This week has seen a parade of new names attached to the film, and the latest is Toby Kebbell.
You didn’t even see Kebbel, per se, in his most recent film, when he was spectacular as the antagonist Koba in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. But Kebbell has been reliably good in many other films prior to that, and we’re looking forward to seeing him as the father of a young boy — a boy who escapes his real-world problems by fleeing to a fantasy world.
