Trailers are an under-appreciated art form insofar that many times they’re seen as vehicles for showing footage, explaining films away, or showing their hand about what moviegoers can expect. Foreign, domestic, independent, big budget: What better way to hone your skills as a thoughtful moviegoer than by deconstructing these little pieces of advertising? We R Animals

I must admit, I know almost nothing about We R Animals. Actually… a few minutes ago, I literally knew nothing about the project or it’s existence. What a difference a few minutes makes… This could now be one of my most anticipated films in development. Seriously…

Found via Twitch, We R Animals is the debut feature from Thobias Hoffmen. The English-language feature film is being produced in Sweden, and hopes to go into production in 2011. They recently shot some test footage to demonstrate the concept to potential investors the producers, which is where these production photos came from. The film is an outrageous R-rated story animated using animatronic puppets (ala Peter Jackson’s Meet The Feebles).
