Last year, Quentin Tarantino released a list of what he called the best films of 2011. This year he has repeated the list-making effort, and Tarantino’s list of the best eleven films of 2011 is out now. (Or best twelve films, really, since there is a tie in one position.) Along with that comes a collection of associated lists, from his estimation of the best directors of the year, to a set of ‘nice try’ picks, which includes some peoples’ fave film, Drive.

Check out the main list below. Read More »

You might have seen the trailers for Paul W.S. Anderson‘s version of The Three Musketeers, naturally shot in 3D, and been left wondering if the movie is really for you. The film is on screens today, and to aid you in making the crucial ticket-buying  decision the first few minutes of the film have landed online. They’re not in 3D, but I think you’ll get the idea anyway. Read More »

Raise your hand if you went to see Meet Joe Black in 1998 just to catch the first teaser trailer for The Phantom Menace. (And, unwittingly, to see Brad Pitt bounced around by cars.) Now raise your hand if you would pay to see an unrelated movie just to catch the first glimpse of Star Wars post-converted to 3D. I think the numbers will be a lot different this time.

But the October 21 release of Paul W.S. Anderson‘s 3D The Three Musketeers will be the first chance for most people to see the new 3D-converted Phantom Menace trailer. Get your tickets now! And speaking of The Phantom Menace, turns out the death of Darth Maul in that film wasn’t actually the character’s end, as he’s due to be resurrected this fall in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Details on that are below. Read More »

We’ve already seen some images and a teaser for Paul W.S. Anderson‘s 3-D “reboot” of The Three Musketeers. Now, a just-released full-length trailer is offering the best look yet at Anderson’s take on 17th century France — and apparently, his version involves flying war blimps. Because why not, I guess.

Loosely based on the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas, The Three Musketeers follows the iconic trio (Matthew MacFadyen, Luke Evans and Ray Stevenson) and their young new teammate D’Artagnan (Logan Lerman) as they fight to save their continent from a powerfully malevolent trio of baddies: Cardinal Richlieu (Christoph Waltz), the Duke of Buckingham (Orlando Bloom with evil facial hair and evil-er eyeliner) and the infamous assassin Milady de Winter (Milla Jovovich). Watch the trailer after the jump. Read More »

A whole boatload of posters has arrived on internet shores in the past few days, so lets start with today’s big one: the uncensored, definitely not safe for work version of the one-sheet for David Fincher‘s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. This one is pretty much internet link-bait and not much more, because it will likely never go up in any US movie theater. And, truth be told, while I admire the boldness of the poster, I like the slightly censored versions much more. Decide for yourself after the break, where we’ll also present Conan the Barbarian character posters and one-sheets for Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark and the reissue of Rainer Werner Fassbinder‘s World on a Wire.

Update: Just as this went live, a new one-sheet for The Three Musketeers arrived via Yahoo. That’s been added to the gallery below. Read More »

Anderson and Summit haven’t been shy about showing the goods for their October 14 release, The Three Musketeers in 3D.
